Bioinformatic analysis of a Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA2) dataset representing 408 GC samples and 211 normal tissues showed that there was no difference in average expression levels of E2F4 between GC samples and normal tissues, but bioinformatics analysis using a completely different and consolidated Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) dataset representing a much larger sample size (i.e. up to 876 GC samples) showed that patients with relatively high E2F4 expression had worse survival than those with relatively low E2F4 expression (93). This evidence concerns the gene E2F4 and gastric cancer.
