In amoebiasis, E. histolytica facilitates actin rearrangement of the cytoskeleton through binding with host fibronectin (FN) which stimulates protein kinase C (PKC) or protein kinase A (PKA) pathways for rearrangement of actin in the amoebae cytoskeleton in preparation for attachment (156, 157). This evidence concerns the gene PRRT2 and amebiasis.
