Given that aspirin and clopidogrel are the first-line treatments for the secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events in minor stroke or TIA patients and the effect of PEAR1 rs12041331 on platelet aggregation (8, 9) and in response to antiplatelet agents (10, 11), the present study has been undertaken in patients with minor stroke or TIA, which is the first research on PEAR1 rs12041331 genotype and long-term cerebrovascular outcomes conducted to date.
