In recent years, studies have found that sacubitril/valsartan can improve ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction through other mechanisms, such as inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the activity of matrix metalloproteinase-9, preventing antioxidant enzyme against degradation, and downregulating exosomal miR-181a (Ishii et al., 2017; Imran et al., 2019; Vaskova et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene MMP9 and myocardial infarction.
