METTL18 and neoplasm: As demonstrated in Table 1 and Figures 4A–I, higher expression level of METTL18 was significantly related to T stage (T4 vs. T1, P = 0.013), histological grade (grade 4 vs. grade 1, P < 0.001), pathologic stage (stages III and IV vs. stage I, P = 0.016), Race (White vs. Asian, P < 0.001), adjacent hepatic tissue inflammation (Mild and Severe vs. None, P = 0.028), AFP (>400 vs. <=400, P = 0.002), TP53 status (mutational type vs. wild type, P = 0.019), Vascular invasion (yes vs. no, P = 0.023), and tumor status (with tumor vs. tumor free, P = 0.032).
