We focused on three insoluble microfeatures involved in oxidative stress cascades of molecular neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease (PD); Lewy bodies (LB), superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) protein deposits and neuromelanin (NM).3 LBs are amyloid-like deposits that are a defining pathological feature of PD. The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
