We did not find sex differences in APOE ε4 allele-associated genetic risk of AD using the entire age group or subgroups of 60–80 and >80 years old, but specific subgroup analysis replicated the previously reported finding that ε3/ε4 confers higher risk in women than men aged 65–75 years (Neu et al., 2017).
