Fishman et al. (1998) reported that healthy subjects possessing the IL6-174 G allele produce higher levels of IL6.This polymorphism has been shown to influence the risk of other diseases such as systemic-onset juvenile chronic arthritis (Fishman et al. 1998) and cardiovascular disease (Machal et al. 2014), and the outcome after renal transplantation (Marshall et al. 2001). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and cardiovascular disorder.
