Intriguingly, Beclin-1 was reported to induce apoptosis of glioblastoma cells through binding to Bcl-xL [105], whereas another research suggested that heterooligomers formed by Bcl-xL and Beclin-1 could maintain full anti-apoptotic function in HeLa cells induced by staurosporine [106].
