Recently, researchers at the Baylor College of Medicine have tested HER2 CAR T cells in a carefully designed dose escalation study using an alternative anti-HER2 binder in patients with both sarcomas and gliomas and have demonstrated both the efficacy and safety of this approach, with no signs of any off-tumor, on-target toxicities (N. Ahmed et al. 2015, 2017). Here, ERBB2 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
