Unexpectedly, compared to those in WT mice with WT bone marrow transplants (WT (WT BM)), the Ang II-induced alterations in blood pressures (Supplementary Fig. S3b–d) and aortal structures (Supplementary Fig. S3e–i) were restored in Cd38−/− mice with WT bone marrow transplants (Cd38 (WT BM)), indicating that CD38 deficiency-mediated protective effects on Ang II-induced hypertension and vascular remodeling might rely primarily on the regulation of the functions of vascular structural cells.
