Previous work has shown that AP-Cav, called cavtratin,5 has beneficial therapeutic effects in a variety of models, including pulmonary fibrosis,10 hypertension,11 hyperoxic lung damage,12 heart failure,13 sepsis,14,15 liver fibrosis,16 cancer,5 multiple sclerosis (MS),17 asthma,18 and ocular diseases, including ischemic and VEGF driven retinal degeneration.19 This evidence concerns the gene CAV1 and Hepatic fibrosis.
