Previous work has shown that AP-Cav, called cavtratin,5 has beneficial therapeutic effects in a variety of models, including pulmonary fibrosis,10 hypertension,11 hyperoxic lung damage,12 heart failure,13 sepsis,14,15 liver fibrosis,16 cancer,5 multiple sclerosis (MS),17 asthma,18 and ocular diseases, including ischemic and VEGF driven retinal degeneration.19 The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
