The same trend was observed in regard to VEGF levels, as the VEGF concentration in the patients with wet AMD (484.19 ± 32.57 pg·mL−1) was obviously higher than that in the healthy participants (309.35 ± 23.15 pg·mL−1, P = 0.0018) (Fig. 1B). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
