Fujita and colleagues studied non‐small cell lung cancer patients treated with the PD‐1 immune checkpoint inhibitor, nivolumab, and found that 53% of patients with infections during follow‐up had received corticosteroids during or after nivolumab administration compared with 45% among those without infections during follow‐up (p value = 0.42 [no association measures or confidence intervals were reported]).8 Here, PDCD1 is linked to infection.
