Interestingly, co-treatment of PRMT5 and AKT inhibitors exhibited a synergistic effect on promoting cell death in various breast cancer cells including estrogen receptor/progesterone receptor (ER/PR) positive cell lines MCF7 and T-47D, and triple-negative breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231, BT-549, and MDA-MB-468 (Fig. 7a, b).
