Increased expression of aerobic glycolysis-related genes, including solute carrier family 2 member 1 (SLC2A1), solute carrier family 2 member 2 (SLC2A2), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), glypican 1 (GPC1), procollagen-lysine, 2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 2 (PLOD2), and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), has been reported to be associated with aggressive HCC (21–29). This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
