CD19 and systemic lupus erythematosus: We showed that 1) pCons tolerance altered expression of several candidate genes (see below) including interferon genes in tolerized B cells and granulocytes compared to naïve cells; 2) pCons tolerance modified the cell surface expression of regulatory B cells (and/or deleted the CD19+CD5+ subset); 3) pCons tolerance increased the percent expression of (CD19+CD1d+) cells; and 4) pCons-tolerized B cells and granulocytes significantly reduced the production of anti-DNA antibody in cell culture experiments of lupus mouse cells.
