For instance, yeast has been successfully used to investigate TDP43 and FUS dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), amyloid-β peptide and Tau in Alzheimer’s disease, α-synuclein (αSyn) and Lrrk2 in Parkinson’s disease, and Huntingtin in Huntington’s disease (as reviewed in Miller-Fleming et al., 2008; Bharadwaj et al., 2010; Pereira et al., 2012; Rencus-Lazar et al., 2019).
