As for prognostic purposes, an epicardial LV GLS < 15.3% (absolute value) was the best predictor of CMRI-detected resolution of myocarditis compared to either basic echocardiographic parameters and laboratory markers (Fig. 2 of the Appendix): AUC = 0.76 (95% CI 0.58–0.93; p = 0.02) vs AUC = 0.67 (95% CI 0.48–0.87; p = 0.1) for LV EF, AUC = 0.63 (95% CI 0.43–0.84; p = 0.2) for E/A, AUC = 0.58 (95% CI 0.37–0.80; p = 0.4) for LV stroke volume, AUC = 0.56 (95% CI 0.24–0.87; p = 0.07) for CRP values and AUC = 0.52 (95% CI 0.20–0.83; p = 0.9) for Tn-I. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and myocarditis.
