With respect to the nervous system, it has been shown that loss of IFN-γR can reduce the autoimmune phenotype of experimental autoimmune neuritis, an animal model of the human Guillain–Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disorder of the peripheral nervous system (Fujioka, 2018; Zhu et al., 1994; Hartung et al., 1990). This evidence concerns the gene IFNGR1 and autoimmune disorder of peripheral nervous system.
