Indeed, using PTEN-knockdown in DU145 prostate cancer cells as a model for EMT we have shown that nitrofen in fact does interfere with the process of EMT (Fig. S4): knockdown of PTEN resulted in down-regulation of E-cadherin and up-regulation of N-cadherin in DU145 prostate cancer cells (Fig. S4). This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and prostate carcinoma.
