Importantly, by examining the top and bottom quartiles as described before (Mariathasan et al., 2018), we found that, although “effector CD8 T cell” and “cross-presentation related” gene signatures did not associate with survival in STAD patients on their own (Figures S5G and S5I), in conjunction, they were able to predict survival selectively in the low sGSN patient subgroup, much like CLEC9A expression (Figures 6F and S5J–S5L). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and gastric adenocarcinoma.
