It is reported that the NLRP3 inflammasome also played a vital role in central nervous system (CNS) diseases (Song et al., 2017), including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) (Ising et al., 2019) PD (Saresella et al., 2016; Wang et al., 2019b), and HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (Walsh et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
