Interleukin (IL)-4 has been confirmed to be elevated in HL and follicular lymphoma; moreover, IL-4 not only contributes to the abnormal proliferation of lymphoma cells but also prevents malignant lymphocytes from apoptosis (Kawakami et al., 2005; Carey et al., 2007; Calvo et al., 2008). This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and follicular lymphoma.
