We further identified that enhanced expression of 7 genes namely CAV2, CIDEC, HILPDA, HSD17B11, NCEH1, RAB5A, and SQLE are associated with significantly shorter overall survival whereas elevated expression of BSCL2 and FITM1 correlates with longer overall survival of pancreatic cancer patients (Fig. 3a). This evidence concerns the gene SQLE and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
