Data showed that on the 14th and 28th day after the administration of bleomycin, lung fibrosis, cough sensitivity, and expression of neurogenic inflammatory mediators SP, NK1R, CGRP, NKA, NKB, NKF, and BDNF in the lungs, as well as expression of TRPV1 and TRPA1 in the cough pathway, were significantly elevated. This evidence concerns the gene TFF2 and pulmonary fibrosis.
