Exome sequencing of 150 metastatic biopsies found that 23% of metastatic prostate cancers carry alterations in the genes critical for DNA repair, again, involving homologous recombination repair genes (BRCA2, ATM, and BRCA1), as well as mismatch repair genes (MLH1 and MSH2) [2]. The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is prostate cancer.
