Traditional biomarkers such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen 19–9 (CA19–9) have improved the diagnostic accuracy of pancreatic cancer, but with a low specificity because of high CA19–9 expression in benign pancreatic diseases and increased CEA expression in colorectal cancer [92]. Here, CEACAM5 is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
