In our experimental rats, the cerebral ischemia caused several changes, including impaired sensorimotor performance (Figure 1A), brain infarction (Figure 1B), brain edema (Figure 1C), elevation of lipid peroxidation product MDA (Figure 1D), reduction of GSH (Figure 1E), and increased caspase 3 activity (Figure 1F). This evidence concerns the gene CASP3 and brain infarction.
