CRYAB and systemic sclerosis: As expected, the analysis of a stress response protein, CRYAB, normally involved in the response to numerous stimuli (including heat, mechanical and oxidative stress [33,34,35]) has revealed a significant increase in its activation in SSc fibroblasts following exposure to hydrogen peroxide (100 μM, 1 h) (H2O2: 2.92 ± 0.4 fold change vs. c, p < 0.05).
