A study focused on the characterisation of fucosylation on haptoglobin among different cancer types, showed that relevant differences in the structure or fucosylation of n-glycan were not detected in esophageal, gastric, colon, gallbladder, pancreatic and prostate cancers, suggesting that haptoglobin in the sera of cancer patients might be produced in the liver [88]. The gene discussed is HP; the disease is cancer.
