ANRIL (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2B (CDKN2B) antisense RNA (1) [39], a known regulator of the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), was found to bind and recruit PRC2 to the promoter of the differentiation factor KLF2 (Krüppel-like factor (2) in HCC cells, effectively repressing KLF2 transcription to promote HCC cell growth in vitro and in vivo. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2B and hepatocellular carcinoma.
