In multivariate analysis, bifocal vs. unifocal (HR = 2.46, p < 0.001), trifocal vs. unifocal HCC (HR = 2.70, p = 0.021), HCC-naïve patient (HR = 0.46, p < 0.001) and AFP > 100 ng/mL (HR = 3.31, p < 0.001) independently predicted shorter RFS. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
