In several cancer cell lines, such as osteosarcoma and melanoma, as well as in vivo models and patient samples, TRIB2 overexpression has been shown to mediate resistance against various chemotherapeutics and targeted drugs including PI3K- and mTORC1-inhibitors, dacarbazine, gemcitabine and 5-fluorouracil, through the disruption of the AKT/FOXO and AKT/MDM2/p53 pathways. Here, TRIB2 is linked to cancer.
