TNF and neoplasm: Inflammation at the tumor site is characterized by the presence of immune cells, such as MDSCs (myeloid-derived suppressor cells) and macrophages, which secrete growth factors (TGF-β, HGF [94]) and cytokines (TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor α), IL (Interleukin)-1, IL-6, and IL-8) able to induce an EMT in cancer cells [95,96,97].
