Some authors found that dominant-negative STAT3 mutations in hyper IgE syndrome patients (AD-HIES) show diminished food allergies and anaphylaxis compared with other hyper-IgE patients with non-mutated STAT3 [77], reinforcing the idea that suppression of STAT3 activity ameliorates allergic symptoms and the incidence of anaphylaxis. The gene discussed is STAT3; the disease is hyper-IgE syndrome.
