The CDH1 gene is a driver of carcinogenesis also in sporadic GC of both diffuse and intestinal histotypes [15,16] and CDH1 epigenetic alterations, such as promoter hypermethylation and histone modifications, have also been detected in most sporadic GCs as a cause of E-cadherin impairment [15,17,18,19,20]. This evidence concerns the gene CDH1 and gastric cancer.
