E2F1 and cancer: The result showed that these genes are regulated by many potential upstream regulators (Table S6), and further enriched in TP53 (z-score − 5.35), FOXM1 (z-score + 4.88), TCF3 (z-score − 4.00), E2F3 (z-score + 3.96) and E2F1 (z-score + 4.00) pathways, known to be important for cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, DNA damage repair and cancer progression.
