Recently, it has been reported that Zfp217 levels are positively associated with triglycerides, and knockdown of Zfp217 hinders adipogenic differentiation by reducing the expression of key lipogenic genes PPARγ, C/EBPα, Ap2, and adiponectin in 3T3-L1 cells, which means Zfp217 has a potential effect on obesity [25,26]. This evidence concerns the gene CEBPA and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
