INS and metabolic syndrome: In conclusion, compared with age-, body mass index-, and blood pressure-matched subjects with isolated mixed dyslipidemia, men with early-onset androgenic alopecia were characterized by impaired insulin sensitivity; elevated levels of DHEA-S, calculated bioavailable testosterone, uric acid, hsCRP, and fibrinogen; and lower levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D. In addition to less expressed lipid-lowering properties, men with early-onset androgenic alopecia were characterized by less pronounced cardiometabolic effects of rosuvastatin.
