MET and neoplasm: They demonstrated that after infection with H. pylori, gastric cancer cells release exosomes containing phosphorylated mesenchymal epithelial transition factor (MET) (Figure 1C), which after being internalized by macrophages increased mRNA levels of the proinflammatory cytokines IL-1α and IL-6, as well as increased IL-1α secretion, which promoted tumor growth and progression in vivo.
