Almost at the same time, by profiling the genome-wide methylation status of CD4+ T, CD19+ B, and CD14+ monocytes from 49 SLE patients and 58 healthy controls, Absher et al. found a common hypomethylation feature near the genes involved in Type I interferon signaling in lupus CD4+ T, CD19+ B, and CD14+ monocytes [50]. This evidence concerns the gene CD19 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
