INS and Hypoglycemia: Improving awareness about such associations for long-acting insulin analogs is needed because they are more expensive than other oral antihyperglycemic therapies and human insulin, which could be alternative options for some patients with type 2 diabetes [9,10], and unnecessary prescriptions of long-acting insulins that are not supported by clinical guidelines [11] should be avoided to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia and save costs.
