CTH and Ito hypomelanosis: The fact that presence of the CTH SNP S403I in the recipient is associated with an increase in IPA incidence but its presence in the donor has no effect on the incidence of IPA suggests that correct persulfidation levels are more important for mounting a proper antifungal response in lung non-hematopoietic cells (e.g., epithelial cells) and lung resident immune cells that are relatively resistant to conditioning treatments (and therefore are partially recipient derived for long periods of time, e.g., AMs [46–49]).
