Sensitization (IgE-mediated immune responses) to allergens can be objectively and quantitatively assessed by skin prick testing (sensitization) to inhalant allergens at age 5 years, when asthma cannot be reliably diagnosed by objective measurements of lung function, and is thus a relevant clinical endpoint to assess when considering the relationship between fungal community composition and atopic disease/allergic asthma. Here, IGHE is linked to allergic asthma.
