Vaccination with a P(Man-TLR7) conjugate linked to CSP (circumsporozoite protein from Plasmodium falciparum malaria) induced a significant increase in CSP-specific CD8+ T cell response (TNF-α+ and IFN-γ+ T cells) compared with controls, including the adjuvant currently used in the malaria vaccine being studied in clinical trials (Fig. 4C).
