VEGFA and glioblastoma: Anti-angiogenic drugs such as bevacizumab, an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A), and cilengitide, an inhibitor of ⍺Vβ3 and ⍺Vβ5 integrin, have been highly pursued in glioblastoma clinical trials, however both of these compounds failed to improve survival of newly diagnosed and recurrent glioblastoma (11–13).
