Tanshinone IIA, cryptotanshinone, and tanshinone I are major lipid-soluble components of Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae that can attenuate permanent cerebral ischemia by inhibiting thrombosis formation, platelet aggregation, and by activating the PLC/PKC pathway in rats (Fei et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene HSPG2 and brain ischemia.
