To examine the molecular mechanisms by which metformin protects against hyperuricaemia‐induced insulin resistance in cardiomyocytes in an acute hyperuricaemic mouse model, we investigated the effect of metformin on AMPK, IRS1 phosphorylation, Akt phosphorylation and GLUT4 translocation in cardiac tissues from the acute hyperuricaemic mouse model. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and Insulin resistance.
