EGF and myopia: The findings that the intraocular amount of EGF in the non-highly myopic group was not significantly correlated with axial length, that it was significantly higher in the highly myopic eyes as compared to the non-highly myopic eyes, and that it was highest in the eye with myopic maculopathy suggests that the EGF production may not change over the non-highly myopic range of axial length, but may start to increase in the range of high axial myopia.
